Week 3

Game:

#3 Triangle Magic (2-1) +5 vs. #4 Crazy Carls (2-2)

Triangle Magic by 5

Analysis:

These two teams and their players have become a staple in the MSSF™ male and as such they've developed quite a rivalry.  Even to the point that the fans of the MSSF™ get excited when these two play ... lots of hits, lots of runs, and some great defense.  But the only thing that keeps this from being the best rivalry in the game is the fact that typically Swartwood and company typically own the Magic...so it's like one of those games that you can't wait to see, but kind of already know the results!  Well we're finally thinking this could be the start of some changes as the Carls are still a force to reckon with, but there is something about this Magic team this season that makes us think they mean business.  Now grant it they did not have an answer for Nemesis last week, although I'm not sure if anyone would have had an answer for the team, but the Carls do not nearly have the power or the hitters Nemesis does and that means the results should be a lot different.  After some early struggles in Week 1, the Carls bounced back in Week 2, but we think they're going to be that Dow Jones team this season, meaning this will be a down week, or at least a down game ...

Final:

13 - 8 Triangle Magic

Week 3

Game:

#7 The Originals (0-4) vs. #3 Triangle Magic (2-1) -10

Triangle Magic by 10

Analysis:

After taking out the Carls in their first game ... the Magic are going to continue to stay hot and The Originals will be in for a big surprise.  Now ... The Originals balled their asses off in Week 2 almost knocking off 'The Fellas' for  potentially the League's biggest upset ever!  Speaking of that ... Manager Grimes and Company if you ever let a 5 run lead in the last inning slip away from you against a top team ... you are going to get it ... but in all seriousness you guys played well and if that's what we have to look forward too ... then it's official the MSSF™ has become a 1000% more competitive league ... watch out City of Raleigh!   Unfortunately, you won't win this game, but if you can play some solid defense and keep the Magic from running up the scoreboard, that'll help in case your bats aren't working.  But what we are really hoping for is you guys don't allow the Magic to cover the spread .. make it a good game ... and whatever it takes, work on that OUTFIELD...right now it seems this is where you're giving up all the runs being scored against you ... too many balls being missed, dropped, or rolling by your outfielders, meaning easy outs are becoming extra bases.  And can we just say that Magic Manager Dave Mollohan is one of our favorite players...this guy can ball...period.  We like his game ... if he can get the same production from the rest of his crew ... the Magic would be almost impossible to beat!

Final:

15 - 5 Triangle Magic

Week 3

Game:

#4 Crazy Carls (2-2) +3  vs. #5 The Fellas (1-1)

Crazy Carls by 3

Analysis:

Fellas or no Fellas ... Top in Raleigh or not ... you guys haven't proved anything here yet.  And while we're talking about what The Fellas haven't accomplished, let's not forget that this is also a very similar team to Carinci from Season I who lost that epic 32-29 World Series to Nemesis ... so what that really means is that regardless of the name, the team boasts some of the top players in the area and well, they're just not getting it done in the MSSF™...why?  Simple, they've been spoiled with a watered-down version of the game and as such they've become complacent and think their 'superior' bats are all that's required to win here ... but they're wrong ... you can't walk to bases against Nemesis, the Magic, or the Carls ... plus their not bailed out by teams being handicapped by 1-1 counts, etc.  Now don't get us wrong, we're not hating on The Fellas, because again they just make the league that more competitive, but they have to know it's not going to be a walk in the park and the target is on their back, so their going to get every team's best.  The Carls can def. compete, but their bats are going to have to be matchsticks to make sure this one will go down as it should and that's with the team taking these guys out.  This will be a good game that will be decided in the last two innings with the Carls staging an epic comeback and ultimately walking away the victors.

Final:

13 - 10 Crazy Carls

Week 3

Game:

#7 The Originals (0-4) vs. #6 Here 4 Beer (1-3) -4

Here 4 Beer by 4

Analysis:

Ok, Originals here is another good chance for you to try and get you a W...not because we think Here 4 Beer sucks, but in two weeks, it still appears the team is not quite gel'ed ... this will bode well for The Originals.  We believe as of now the teams are pretty evenly matched which will make for a great game and both need a win to help out their playoff seeding causes.  A big inning for Here 4 Beer will allow the team to take an early lead and from there The Originals will do their best to catch up but will fall just a bit shy.

Final:

9 - 5 Here 4 Beer

Week 3

Game:

#5 The Fellas (1-1) +8 vs. #6 Here 4 Beer (1-3)

The Fellas by 8

Analysis:

Is this a game that we automatically assume Here 4 Beer will lose ... well, yes ... but if the team can catch a high from their win against The Originals and find that instant 'gelification', they have the players who can compete ... Crews is a beast, Allen is deadly, Langley can play anywhere, and Schaefer is hitting the ball as hard as we've ever seen him hit it!  Then there's DeWayne Watkins and we'll just leave it at that.  All we want is just a good, fun, entertaining game to watch.  The Fellas will be heated and ready to avenge another loss and that will spell doom for Here 4 Beer.  We can see the ball being smacked all over the place and although the outfield of Here 4 Beer is fairly good with Crews, Allen, and Thompson (who's def. in the running for most improved player), the infield tends to be Here 4 Beers Achilles.  If H4B plays an error free game this will be a doosey ... but we fill this may be impossible so the team will loosey...

Final:

14 - 6 The Fellas
